Jerry Falwell Said That ACLU, Feminists, and Homosexuals Were Responsible for 9/11 Attacks. In an interview with Pat Robertson, Falwell said that "The ACLU's got to take a lot of blame for this [the 9/11 attacks]... the abortionists have got to bear some burden for this... I really believe that the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way... I point the finger in their face and say, "You helped this happen."

How does a man like that become the "moral majority"?

Truth be told, Falwell was just a bigot who was being investigated for illegal, political campaign contributions. His death was as predictable as when Ken Lay suddenly died -it effectivey killed a full blown disclosure. His death was like Richard Nixon resigning, to evade a full blown investigation of his clear and direct links to the Kennedy assassination.

Liberty University Dismissed Students For Practicing A Religion Other Than Baptism. Three students at Jerry Falwell's Liberty University were dismissed because they "refused to stop worshiping at a Pentecostal church," as opposed to the Baptist services mandated by the school. University staff said that the three were "creating some confusion" among the other students by sharing with them their differing religious beliefs. [Associated Press, 9/27/91]

Falwell Said That If Supreme Court Had "Known God's Word", Brown v. Board of Education Would Have Been Decided Differently. Referring to the Supreme Courts' decision in Brown v. Board of Education, Christian televangelist and Liberty University founder Jerry Falwell once said [in a 1958 speech], "If Chief Justice [Earl] Warren and his associates had known God's Word..., I am quite confident that the 1954 decision would never have been made." There is no record of an apology. [National Journal, 11/3/84] Jerry Falwell was not the Moral Majority. Jerry Falwell was and is the lunatic fringe.

Jerry Falwell Used the Bible To Justify Segregation and Criticize Interracial Marriage. In 1958, Falwell gave a sermon on segregation, stating that "The true Negro does not want integration... He realizes his potential is far better among his own race... It will destroy our race eventually... In one northern city, a pastor friend of mine tells me that a couple of opposite race live next door to his church as man and wife... It boils down to whether we are going to take God's Word as final." Jerry Falwell is not the moral majority. He was and is the lunatic fringe.

Churches that enjoy tax breaks must abide by certain restrictions on their political activities and advocacy. Jerry Falwell never did restrict his political activities, and that is why he was essentially an unindicted criminal. "The scriptures say, if the blind lead the blind, they both will fall into the ditch. Or in this case, into the hands of the IRS."

The comparison between Kenneth Lay and Jerry Falwell is not without merit. Lay was found dead at 64, awaiting sentencing after being found guilty of conspiracy and fraud in the Enron trial. Like Ken Lay's pals, Falwell's partners and associates were better off if Falwell was dead and mute than in the hands of criminal probers.

If you follow the money, you might discover that the trail is Enron-like. Liberty University, based in Lynchburg, Virginia, hit hard times in the early 1990s and had to get bailed out by a front group for Rev. Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church. Moon controls a multibillion dollar tax-free business empire. In the mid-1980s, he served a year in prison for tax evasion. A lesser known fact is that his business operations have competed for, and received, government contracts worth millions of dollars. No ordinary commercial operation can compete with a Moonie shop because you can't beat the low cost of slave labor.

Moon says he's the only person in the world who knows all the secrets of God. Well, isn't he smart? He says he's been the Messiah ever since he ran into Jesus in Korea in 1936. He says Jesus asked him to take over the mission -- the one Moon says Jesus screwed up because He didn't get married. Moon continues his lifelong pursuit of recognition -- to be crowned the new world Messiah. But he has often complained, "look, I'm doing my best to be the Messiah. You try to be the Messiah."

Moon came to the U.S. in the early 1970s. His organization is said to be not religious, but political. It has connections to South Korean intelligence operations designed to bolster the U.S. commitment to Seoul in case North Korea invades. His clout in Washington increased substantially during the Reagan administration because both Reagan and Moon are rabid anti-Communists. He has given millions of dollars to a number of Republicans. Paid speakers at his Family Federation for World Peace have included George Bush, William Bennett, Jack Kemp, and Ralph Reed.

Since his organization funneled millions to Jerry Falwell's Liberty University when it was facing staggering debts, it is difficult to abandon the impression that we live in a world where one tax evader greases the wheels of another.

The fact that Jerry Falwell's opportunity to promote his bigotry was illegally financed explains the source of his power. Like his sinister rants, Falwell is merely a product of financed propaganda. On his "Old Time Gospel Hour" program, he had peddled thousands of copies of a video titled "The Clinton Chronicles." This video accuses Bill Clinton of drug smuggling, coke snorting, and having folks murdered when he was Governor of Arkansas. Jerry has always acted weasely about this, sending this preposterous video through the mail to folks gullible enough to swallow it. It has even been shown in Christian fundamentalist schools, where the minds of young children have been poisoned with anti-Clinton propaganda. When dirty money finances the propaganda of bigots like Jerry Falwell, we create the world we deserve.

Jerry Falwell was under investigation for making illegal contributions to the Bush campain and the buzz on the boards is that his death was a matter of "internal cleansing". There is also a rumor that Jerry Falwell's contacts were being investigated for the murder of David Halberstam. Hey maybe Kevin Jones, the "Moveable Middle" wants to be the new, "Moral Majority." It is certainly ironic that all these power brokers are in trouble at the same time. It is also ironic to intersect the lives of somebody like David Halbestram, a historian who is widely respected and Jerry Falwell, a man who is despised as much if not more than he is loved. This is all very strange: Follow the links to read about the so-called "moveable middle". These people are WEIRD they are trying to manipulate everything like some kind of Ayatollah in Iran.

Prior to his death, Jerry Falwell advocated the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. It sounds like his organization thinks it can control the world as well as the United States of America.

To correct the message we received, it was actually fellow television preacher, Pat Robertson who advocated the assassination of Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, but the confusion is understandable. In conversation, both Pat Robertson AND Jerry Falwell agreed that the terrorist attacks should be understood theologically as God’s judgment on America because of the secularization of our society caused by pagans, abortionists, feminists, gays and lesbians, and they are essentially on the same page when it comes to taking vengeance into their own hands.

It is finally interesting to note that there are people who are even more intolerant than Jerry Falwell was, and one of them is one of his biggest fans, Ann Coulter. In her own words, Ann Coulter said:

Actually, there was one small item I think Falwell got wrong regarding his statement after 9-11 that "the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians – who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle – the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say, 'You helped this happen.'"

First of all, I disagreed with that statement because Falwell neglected to specifically include Teddy Kennedy and 'the Reverend' Barry Lynn.

It sounds like Ann Coulter hates Barry Lynn because when he was very young, he marched with Martin Luther King Jr., and he advocates the separation of church and state. No doubt, she included David Halberstam in her list of targets that she thinks deserve to be terrorized. Wonder what she thought about Ted's nephew, JFK Jr., one of the people she stalked, before his "accident"?

It is safe to conclude that Jerry Falwell represents the "lunatic fringe" and it is his own rhetoric which has embedded the verdict in stone. In his own words:
