Shooting Red at Toronto's King Edward.

Robert Schwentke, the director of "The Time Traveler's Wife" has started shooting the movie Red.

Based on the DC Comics, graphic novel by Warren Ellis, Red tells the story of Frank Moses, a former black-ops CIA agent living a quiet and secluded life until his serene existence is disturbed when a hi-tech assassin arrives to take him out. With his identity compromised and the woman he loves threatened, Frank calls upon his old crew in an attempt to survive.

According to Summit Entertainment President of Production Erik Feig, “Red is that classic project with a little bit of something for everyone. We are thrilled to see it come to vivid life with an outstanding cast, incredibly talented director, and top notch producing team. It's gonna be a good one.”

After shooting in and around the Toronto metropolitan area for nine weeks, the cast and crew will hit the road to shoot in New Orleans for two weeks in late march. Red is scheduled for an October 22nd, 2010 release, and it's going to be a good one.
